The Last Bookstore Before AI placed second runner-up at the XRCC Online Hackathon, Meta/Shapes XR category. The experience invites users to reflect on how AI is changing the way we create, discovering books, crafts, and objects that feel touched by new technology, a conscious pause to appreciate what human creativity means in a world being reshaped. Built as a fully remote collaboration with partners found during the hackathon. I led the art direction and 3D design.

The project was created for Meta Horizon Worlds. The 3D assets were modelled in Blender and the interactions were built directly in Horizon Worlds.

Write your thoughts about human creativity.

From process to final product

This project is a reflection on our current moment, where human creativity is being questioned. Having a bookstore as the centrepiece brings all these elements together, creating a space for reflection and discovery. Working within the time constraints of a virtual hackathon, finding the moments to brainstorm and collaborate as a newly formed remote team, was definitely a challenge but the final outcome made it a very enriching experience. Creating in Horizon Worlds also opened up a new way of building and thinking about interactive spaces.
