As part of a month-long residency at Tate Modern celebrating the museum's 25th anniversary, in partnership with UAL and the University of Goldsmiths and sponsored by Anthropic, Kristina and I hosted a workshop at the Tech, Tea + Exchange event at the iconic Blavatnik Building with the Digital Maker Collective.
The workshop explored the creative power of AI in immersive workflows, reimagining three masterpieces from the anniversary collection, Monster Chetwynd's A Tax Haven Run By Women, Henri Matisse's The Snail, and Dalí's Lobster Telephone, as interactive 3D worlds. Using Claude.ai connected directly to Blender via MCP, we live-built the environments in front of the audience, prompting Claude and feeding in the artworks while attendees watched the 3D geometries generate in real time.
The environments were exported to Frame for full WebXR exploration through VR headsets. This project was about showing the possibilities of Claude when integrated with other creative tools. Using the Tate collection as our starting point, we demonstrated a different approach to working with AI, opening up new ways to explore, reinterpret, and experience art.
